Beautiful wall art…Just waiting for my new couch!I’ve never done a wall mural before. I’m crafty and capable of figuring most anything out so I thought, “I can do this!” I read a lot of reviews and watched some videos on YouTube about installing this type of wall mural. The application is very straight forward but tricky to get just right (especially if you’re a perfectionist). The most important thing to do is prepare your wall. The smoother and cleaner the wall, the smoother the application. There is a one-inch built-in overlap in the dimension of the six panels. This overlap is noticeable on my wall. I’m weary of trimming it as I’m not sure the image will show the seams worse or better. The panels are well made of sturdy vinyl that you can pull up and reapply if it’s not right and I even had one panel that got crinkled up - imagine pulling apart a bunch of balled up masking tape, except it actually pulls apart without ripping or marring! Very impressive. It’s important to get the first panel just right. I used a level to make sure my ceiling line was straight and also to check that the panel length was level once I tacked it up. Knowing that my mural was wider than my wall, I left about an inch overlap past the corner of the wall on my first panel. Once you commit to the first panel you just gotta have faith and patience the rest of the way. The last panel proved the hardest as I had about seven inches of extra panel which I fought with a few times. Some helpful tools: good lights, small ladder, sandpaper to smooth down your wall, wet cloth to clean up any dust fro the wall, a small towel folded firmly to smooth out the panels as you work your way down, a foam wallpaper float to pop out your corners and baseboard areas, a straight flat edge and utility knife to trim the edges. Also, a clean floor helps to keep the panels free of dust and dirt. If I had to do anything differently, I’d say vacuum or dust your ceiling because when you’re aligning each panel at the top of the wall, the panel will come in contact with the slightest bit of cobweb up there. Oh, and the mural is a bit sheer. Luckily my wall color was already a complimentary color so nothing bled through. Took me eight hours to install by myself. I took my time and made it as nice as possible (and I ate a quick meal in there somewhere). The mural went up easily BUT it didn't look good. The colors were washed out. Maybe I picked the wrong print, whatever. I'm going to buy another mural with stronger, broader, deeper colors. This pastel looked bleached white. I couldn't live with it.I bought this mural for my classroom since I don’t have any windows or sunlight. I read other reviews about installation, which were very helpful. I liked the picture quality and sturdiness of vinyl. Unfortunately, my picture offered some challenges that I wished I would have known about before purchasing. Due to the large expanse of sky and clouds, it was difficult to find reference points to match up. One cloud or tree would match at one stop exactly, but then two- three inches above or below would be completely off. Through patience and the help of my adult son and husband, we were able to match most of it. The biggest issue I have was the lines that were created with the overlap of the panels. For murals that have a lot of color or details, it is probably not an issue. However with the light background on this one, they stick out like a sore thumb. Since I teach middle school, I receive no funds for my classroom. This was an expensive purchase that came out of my own pocket, but I wanted something to help inspire my students. Sadly, I’m disappointed in the results.I was a little worried when I received the package because it was heavy. The panels being self adhesive, I did not want to find them fallen off the wall the next day. The backing that you peel is heavy but the vinyl picture itself is light. I did it by myself, was easy and stayed on the wall. I gave it a 4 because the picture itself could be brighter, more sunny. So many compliments. Bright colors! Gorgeous picture. The mural I bought came in 4 pieces. I was concerned about matching the pieces. I hung it all by myself. Went faster than I thought it would. Although I was a nervous wreck that I would mess it up, it came out great. Only tiny little spots which are only noticeable to me. My second mural purchase from Wall26. They have my vote!I ordered this twice. The first time it arrived, it was missing the graphic. Seller immediately refunded my money, so seller is trustworthy. I have never hung wallpaper before, so it took me about four hours to finish it. It is pixelated, which I like, it has a soft, dreamy look, As you can see from my pictures, I used painters tape to get an idea of placement before starting (got the idea from another reviewer). I've had it up over a week no problems with adhesion. And it's pretty easy to keep clean, my great dane shook her head and dog drool was all over it. Cleaned it right up with a damp towel. Last, the imperfections on the wall show through, but the pattern is very forgiving, looks just fine. Would buy from this seller again!I had been looking for something like this for a couple months. The picture is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I love it!! It is a little tricky to install as the panels easily fold up on themselves. It took me almost an hour to install each panel. Mind you, I #1 did it by myself, #2 was on a 18" wide ledge, #3 starting in a corner with a sloping ceiling. Definitely a challenge. And.... If anyone needs my DNA all they have to do is peel this think off the wall and they will find some hair...But, it was all well worth it! It is over a ledge and I accented it with the pelican, blue hering and the crab pot.Be smart.... Lay out all the pieces first. If you do you will easily notice that there is an overlap. Put the first panel up and then lightly tape the next panel up - just to gague placement, then put that panel up and so on.I will get another one so I can cover the rest of the wall. It should match ok since it will be on the other side of that half wall - see photoVery easy to apply, using downward strokes from the centre outwards with a small dry towel, only took an hour from start to finish. My only concern is the overlaps show, but I understand why they are there as most of us aren’t journeyman wallpaper installers. I like the pixelated finish as it gives it a dreamy relaxing effect. Good product for the money.La murale est belle, je trouve seulement décevant qu'on voit tout les overlap, peut-être si le mur en arrière serait peinturer foncé on le verrait moins? Surtout à ce prix.
