Description

2013 release from the avant-garde musical alter ego of Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland. The 11 songs, partly instrumental, are built around the previously released track 'It Rapes All in It's Path', which was featured on the Underworld: Awakening Soundtrack. The idea of building an EP evolved into a pseudo film soundtrack.

I've been a fan of Wes Boreland's since I saw him climb out of a giant dirty toilet dressed like a gorilla at Ozzfest back in the 90's. Never was a huge fan of Limp Bizkit but I wore out more than one copy of Big Dumbface (back when CD's were still useful). I loved the first Black Light Burns album, and thought their cover album was interesting but not really my style. I'm still listening to The Moment You Realize You're Going to Fall and I like about half the songs on that album. I just got done listening to Lotus Island and I have to say, it's one of, if not my favorite album Wes has ever made.It starts off with a few ambient groove songs and really gets going with It's Good to Be Gold. One of my favorite BLB songs already and I'm excited to get to listen to it again. The majority of the album is a combination of ambient rock (think Neurosis, if you know what that is, or more specifically Tribes of Neurot) and some of BLB's best songs to date. I'm going to go find the Underworld Awakening soundtrack now to hear the original version of It Rapes All in It's Path but the mix on here is pretty awesome. Another standout track is My Love is Coming For You. Very awesome, trippy rock track that's another one of their best songs yet.Overall, this is a fantastic album, with the perfect combination of Ambience and Rock. I would highly recommend this to any fan of Black Light Burns, or rock music in general. This is an amazing EP and it just makes me want to hear more of what these guys are going to do next.
